Mini-Split Repair is a Call Away

Mini Split heat pumps are perfect for Kentucky; they can keep your home cool in the summer and keep your home warm in the winter. At Sizemore Heating and Cooling we proudly install LG ductless mini splits.

This technology has been around for some time but in the last decade they have added new inverter technology to make these units heat as well as they cool, no matter the temperature outside.

With these new innovations this has made mini splits one of the more popular and versatile products in the HVAC world. Mini Splits are quiet and extremely efficient with their multi-zone offerings they can keep any residence's comfortable no matter what season it is.

Since 2013 we have been working with this new technology and have spent the time training and learning on the job to easily and efficiently diagnose your mini split heat pump problem. Below is a list of things you can check on your own system before we get there.

Do You Need Mini Split Repair?

  •   Remote Batteries Dead? Some mini split heat pumps use a handheld remote to set the unit. These usually require batteries sometimes just changing the batteries is all that is needed.
  •   Heating or Cooling Mode? Because the newer units are so technologically advanced they have both cooling and heating mode. Make sure that you have set your mini split system to the correct mode.
  •   Is the System Calling for Heating or Cooling? Find a zone and put that zone way past the current temperature in the room to see if you can get it to blow hot or cool air.
  •   Is the Breaker On? Sometimes the breaker flips and there is no power to the unit. Check your breaker box and make sure that the breaker did not trip.
  •   Outdoor Unit in Defrost Mode? If you are in heating mode make sure that it is not. If it is it should only take a few minutes before the unit operates as normal.
  •   Filters Dirty? Check your filters and make sure that they are good working order.
  •   Unit In Time Delay? If your breaker was off, after turning the power on, give it a few minutes: many systems have a built-in time delay after a power outage.
  •   System Calling for Heating or Cooling? Make sure that at least one zone is set to on and the desired temperature is set well below ambient for cooling operation, or well above ambient for heating operation.
  •   Is the Power On? Check your circuit breaker and your outdoor unit disconnect to ensure that you have not had a nuisance trip and your heat pump system does have power.
